The notice period counts the day notice is given, weekends and public holidays. With your employer's agreement you can use annual leave to end earlier.
Minimum notice under the Employment Act

| 2 years to under 5 years | 2 weeks |
| 5 years or more | 4 weeks |
These apply only if your contract does not set a notice period. Either side can pay salary in lieu instead of serving the notice. No CPF is due on salary in lieu of notice.

What is the minimum notice period in Singapore?+
If your contract does not say: 1 day for less than 26 weeks of service, 1 week for 26 weeks to under 2 years, 2 weeks for 2 to under 5 years, and 4 weeks for 5 years or more (Employment Act).
Does the notice period include weekends and public holidays?+
Yes. MOM counts the day notice is given, rest days, public holidays and non-working days in the notice period.
Can I use annual leave to shorten my notice?+
Yes, if your employer agrees. Your last day moves earlier and you are paid up to that day.
How is salary in lieu of notice calculated?+
It is the salary you would have earned during the notice period. For notice in months it is that many months of salary; in weeks, 12 × monthly salary ÷ 52 per week.
